God's Roadmap

Now may the Lord Jesus Christ and our Father God, who loved us and in his wonderful grace gave us eternal comfort and a beautiful hope that cannot fail, encourage your hearts and inspire you with strength to always do and speak what is good and beautiful in his eyes (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 TPT).

The Remedy for America's Pain

by Barbara Latta

The past few months have caused us to experience sacrifices many of us have never made. We saw
Declaration of Independence was approved on July 4, 1776
empty store shelves and couldn’t find toilet paper. And when we did find the necessary bathroom accessory, it was the uncushy kind. We improvised on food, invented activities to prevent boredom and learned to live with our faces covered. We think we really had it bad.

And yes, those who contracted COVID-19 did suffer. The rest of us had some interruptions and sacrifices, but did we really suffer?

We celebrate our country’s birthday on July 4 because that is the day the Declaration of Independence was approved by Congress. But few people are aware of the suffering the revolutionary patriots experienced to give birth to this country.

By signing this document, they were endorsing their own death warrants. Had the war turned in favor of the British, every person whose name was on that document would have been hanged for treason.

They lost homes and fortunes. They lost family members. They suffered illnesses, cold and starvation.

The troops fought without proper equipment, medical supplies, clothing or food.

They were outnumbered on every level.

But by the grace of God, America was founded. And the reason?

God blessed the efforts of those who were willing to give all to birth a new country that was released from tyranny and a king who made himself God. America would be a gateway to the world to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ and proclaim the freedom to worship God.

That’s the reason Satan is so opposed to America. The divisiveness, racial tension, anger, violence and hatred are all seeds he has planted. Because if American falls, the rest of the world will too. America has brought aid to other countries, sent missionaries abroad and defended the defenseless for centuries.

The revolutionary patriots suffered physically, emotionally and financially to create an independent nation. But no one has ever suffered as much as Jesus did. And His suffering was in place of ours to bring reconciliation to God. He is the only remedy to the pain our country feels now. through violence and racial tension

When the fireworks are displayed in the sky on Independence Day, may every explosion bring joy to your heart that you live in a country that is still free.

Pray for our nation. Pray for hearts to turn toward God because that is the only way our nation will heal.

  1. Well said Ms. Barbara. Our veterans, and so many generations in our past, have sacrificed and given of themselves to ensure America was that "beacon on the hill" that shined brightly so the rest of the world might become a little bit better place. Yet there are those, driven by Satan, who seek to diminish that light. To them, I say God's light can and will never be dimmed. #StandUpForChrist Be the #ChristianAmerican people who have saved the world. God's blessings my friend. Thank you and your family for helping to preserve our nation ma'am.

    2. Very timely message, Barbara. We should never forget the sacrifices of those men and women who fought for our freedom from Great Britain and those who have sacrificed to protect our freedom since. But you are right, it is only through Jesus and His ultimate sacrifice that we are truly free. Thanks for this inspiring message.

  2. Barbara, you pointed us to the ones who paid the cost of freedom for our nation and to Jesus who paid for the freedom of our souls. May we be grateful for both and willing to pay any cost He requires. Thanks so much.
