How Is Your Spirit Like the Universe?

by Barbara Latta

Astronomers tell us the universe is expanding. Scientists at NASA using the Hubble theory

The universe is expanding.

can project the universe’s expansion rate up to one billion light years. These facts surpass our ability to comprehend.

This tells me the universe is infinite; that this expansion could go on eternally. I like to think of these cosmic pieces drifting through space and forming new galaxies as leftovers from the creation. I can visualize God saying, “Light be!” and light came out of Him into an explosion of power from which He created the rest of the world. (My version, of course!)

If you are a believer, He did the same thing inside you when you became born again. Your dead spirit left and God put His Spirit inside you. Because God is infinite and eternal, the seed He placed inside each of us will continue to expand and grow as we nourish and water that creation with His Word.

I think when we get to heaven we will still be learning and growing because we can never contain everything about God. We will be expanding eternally in our glorified bodies and one billion light years from now we will contain more of the eternal Father than we had before, but we will have billions more light years to absorb. We will never get to the end because there is no end. Like the universe, we will be ever expanding.

How marvelous is that? Share your thoughts.

God's Glory is Evident in Creation

by Barbara Latta

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands" (Psalm 19:1).

How can we miss the magnificence of God's artwork? The shimmer of the moon glowing over crystal water, a towering oak blowing in the wind stretching its arms toward the heavens, or a simple snowflake different in every aspect from any other all give evidence of a creator.

To enjoy the colors, shapes, textures, sounds, and smells He gives us in creation are all gifts He has bestowed upon us. He could have made everything the same and we would never have known the difference. But in His love and majesty He gave us wonders to enjoy.

Bask in creation and thank Him for his gift.

What are some of your memories of enjoying creation?

How Old Are Dinosaurs?

One of the places we visited last week in Colorado was the Dinosaur Resource Center in Manitou Springs. It is filled with fossils and artifacts from all over North America.

It is always fun to visit these sites and see the many wonders from the earth. The problem is when unbelieving scientists try to pass their theories off as truth when they have no evidence to support any of them. This causes confusion for many people because those of us who believe the Bible know God created the earth and all it contains in six days. The bones in the earth cannot lie. They were here. But when?

Are the dinosaurs really millions of years old?

The following video explains very simply how the truth of the Bible and the archeological facts agree. It is lengthy, but if you are interested in connecting the dots and having ammunition for the next evolutionist you encounter, it is worth watching.

Now, what about you? What do you think?
