God's Roadmap

Now may the Lord Jesus Christ and our Father God, who loved us and in his wonderful grace gave us eternal comfort and a beautiful hope that cannot fail, encourage your hearts and inspire you with strength to always do and speak what is good and beautiful in his eyes (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 TPT).

What is the Purpose of Work?

by Barbara Latta

God created the beautiful world and put Adam in a paradise. He told the man to tend the garden.

The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. (Genesis 2:8 NKJV)

Work was necessary even in this perfect place. But Adam’s assignment did not require toil and sweat. If there were no weeds to pull or hard ground to devour seeds, then what was the purpose of work?

Three Gardens of Doubt - Eden, Gethsemane, Our Minds

 by Barbara Latta

The First Garden

I don’t like snakes, but I know people who do. They like them because they know how to handle
them. These professionals are the experts and they know the nature of the reptile and how these creatures behave. They are not caught off guard by any attacks.

Adam and Eve were placed in a perfect environment. God walked and talked with them and He gave them everything they needed for physical enjoyment and nourishment. They lacked nothing.
Then a snake appeared.

Subtlety, lies, deception. Whispered words through the leaves of a tree that held beautiful, tasty food.
The words that went into Eve’s mind caused her to doubt the words her Creator had said.
She reached out and took the fruit. She saw it, held it, and believed the lie. She took a bite and mankind fell. They were caught off guard by the attack of doubt.

Jesus is the only baby born whose destiny was to die

by Barbara Latta

Jesus was born to die.

The incarnate Christ was forever changed when the Word of God became flesh. The second person of the Trinity laid aside the benefits of His deity to subject Himself to the creation He had made so He could redeem that same creation from sin. When Jesus was resurrected, He had an immortal body with scars He will have forever. …Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into my side…(John 20:27).

God’s plan for the ages was redemption for His creation.

For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you (1 Peter 1:20 NKJV).

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel (Genesis 3: 15).

But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Corinthians 2:7-8).

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the
propitiation for our sins (1 John 4:10).

Jesus really is the REASON we have the SEASON, for without Him not only would we not have Christmas, but we wouldn’t have Resurrection Day. And Resurrection Day is the reason He was born.

May your Christmas be blessed and happy!
