God's Roadmap

Now may the Lord Jesus Christ and our Father God, who loved us and in his wonderful grace gave us eternal comfort and a beautiful hope that cannot fail, encourage your hearts and inspire you with strength to always do and speak what is good and beautiful in his eyes (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 TPT).

Diamond Mines and God's Love

by Barbara Latta

A 7.5 carat diamond was unearthed this week in Arkansas at the Crater of Diamonds State
Gemstones are much sought after.
Park. I grew up 25 miles away from this site which is the only diamond mine in North America, and e
very time we go back to visit my parents our sons want to go look for diamonds. This is not a cave like the image the word mine portrays, rather It’s just a big field of dirt.

Gemstones of all kinds are much sought after. Jewelry stores abound with sparkling ornaments in every color imaginable for us to adorn ourselves with. At one time all these precious stones were rocks hiding in the earth covered with dirt and darkness.

The value is of a gem is determined by the rarity and the beauty of the stone. The more scarce the treasure, the higher the value and the more appealing it is to the owner.

But our value is not determined by what we own but by Who owns us. God’s value becomes our value when we submit our lives to Him. We become His gemstones shining on the earth to reflect His beauty and glory for the entire world to see.

Someone had to pay a price to dig gems out of the earth and polish them to perfection so their beauty could be enjoyed. Jesus bought us by paying the price to the Father and He polishes us to perfection and places us in the kingdom of God as joint heirs with Him.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!  (1 John 3:1a NIV).

The twelve foundations of the new Jerusalem are made of precious stones (Revelation 21:14). God instructed Moses to make an ephod and breastpiece for the high priest to wear containing twelve different gems (Exodus 25:7). Lucifer was adorned with every precious stone before he fell and became satan (Ezekiel 28:13).

God owns every gem the earth contains and created the beauty and fiery brilliance within each, yet the most precious treasure He created was us. You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord. And a royal diadem in the hand of your God (Isaiah 62:3).

The blood of Jesus is the most valuable gift.
God loved us so much he made us His own. Romans 8:17 says since we are His children, we are heirs. An heir inherits everything the Father has. We have a more valuable inheritance than mere earthly gems.

If you ever question your value to God, remember how much he paid for you. Our value to God is unlimited and never ending and the blood of Jesus is the most valuable gift He ever gave.

There are more verses in the Bible about our worth than can be listed here. What are some of your favorite ones?
